Research Suggests Cannabis Effective in Treating Endometriosis

Researchers from Israel have recently conducted an in-depth research on the influence of cannabis in the treatment of endometriosis, which is a gynecological problem affecting every one in ten females aged 15 to 50.

The narrative suggests women who consume medical cannabis get instant relief from this distressing condition. A team of experts studied in detail the composition, biological factors and active components playing a role in alleviating the pain. This opens up ways for scientists to find different combinations of compounds in marijuana responsible for treating the disease.

Health Ministry has legally allowed Gynica to design cannabis infused items for females. Experts from Gynica, in collaboration  with scientists from Lumir Lab performed this research. The latter body is a marijuana study facility in Hadassah Ein Karem. It is a biotechnology park in Jerusalem, Israel.

There was no effective treatment for Endometriosis before

Endometriosis is a complex disorder. Around 176 million women annually encounter this painful disease. There are a number of etiological factors working behind its progression. The uterine epithelium develops outside the uterus. Moreover, it grows all around the pelvic region, covering the abdominal cavity and reproductive organs. As a result of this anomaly, women experience sharp pain before and after their menstrual cycles. Not only that, they also experience immense pain during sexual intercourse. There are also signs of severe stomach acidity and painful urination.

The different compounds present in medical marijuana in fixed ratios and combinations can influence the etiological factors responsible for the onset of symptoms. For instance, scientists observed a decline in pain and inflammation as a result of the abnormal lining growth. Furthermore, cannabis also decreases the risk of recurrence of the symptoms.

Active compounds in cannabis help fight the symptoms

Scientists have examined a diverse range of cannabis compounds on the affected cells to study the reaction and influence of the compounds on the cells. The experts have been testing different set of combinations to see which one works the best and term it as the lead candidate in treating the disease.

They have revealed they have found a potential candidate for addressing the root cause of the disease. However, clinical trials on subjects are important to further solidify the evidence. The trials will take place in Fall.

In addition to performing this research in collaboration with Lumir Lab, Gynica is also co operating with Strainprint. Strainprint is an agency that has expertise in data integration and analysis of the impact of marijuana on different other disorders. These organizations are on their way to build up the biggest data collection platform in the world to examine in detail the efficiency of medical cannabis.

Prof. Lumir Hanush is a cannabis specialist who is in charge of the absolute most significant revelations made in the field of cannabis active compounds. He is leading the Lumir Lab.  Gynica is led by Prof. Moshe Hod. He is a gynecologist and also the president of the European Association of Obstetricians.
