Booker Jokes About Cannabis at a Conference

Published

on

Cory Booker is also coming as a cannabis fan with his recent joke as he calls cannabis to be much safer than “French fries”. With the emergence of cannabis industry, the famous politician is on his campaigns fully supporting cannabis. What’s the catch?

Cory Anthony Booker is a US politician and is also a United States Senator from New Jersey for 6 years. The democrat politician is the first African American US senator belonging to New Jersey state. Prior to it, he had been Newark’s 36th Mayor from 2016 to 2013.

At a conference, he hilariously told about his experience in Burger King, where he ordered a vegan burger. Booker justified it further with a fruit containing dessert – the famous and delicious apple pie. The combination with accompanying French fries completed the veggie and fruit servings.

He explains his visit to Newark fast food joints, where he recklessly orders large French fries and is guilty of having them. Moreover, he says that he believes in descheduling marijuana on the federal level. Now he jokingly hints over the “addictive” effects of French fries. Furthermore, he emphasizes on descheduling them instead as they are more harmful.

The Senator is an advocate for cannabis

The 2020 presidential candidate has been a known champion for advocating various cannabis bills in the legislative committee during his working years. For instance, he introduced the Marijuana Justice Act to the senate in 2017. It would decriminalize cannabis on the federal level.

In addition, it would also do the expungement of the past records of cannabis cases. Booker is quite hopeful about the immense opportunity this industry will provide to the US economy to flourish. Therefore, he is of the belief that cannabis law reform will be his top priority. He says this will happen if he becomes the president of the United States of America next year.

He also hinted at the increased obesity rates in US

With so many people consuming cannabis and so many franchises open for the numerous innovative products available for purchase, the president is surely playing wise. This light joke not only hints his support for cannabis legalization, but also goes against the unhealthy dietary habits of Americans.

This is especially true in the recent years, when obesity and cardiovascular diseases are becoming a major cause of death in Americans. It is not evident to presume he will also be doing something about increasing obesity and mortality rates from Cardiac failures in the country. However, the little humor set a deep meaning for his campaign.

We cannot comprehend anything obvious from his little statement. However, there can be a hope that something could be done about the horror prevailing in America. Moreover, he also hints at the opposing republicans that are against cannabis legalization at the federal level. With more benefits coming on the stage, it is not early to say cannabis has its advantages for many people.

The legalization of the substance at the federal level would mean the country would be shifting its economy paradigm to the emerging industry, although on a minor scale. However, this will be an optimistic approach.
